What We Believe

The Bible is our rule for faith and practice. The following statement of truth is not intended to be exhaustive, but simply a common expression of faith:

1. We believe in one triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit; Creator of all things. (Is. 43:7-10; John 1:1-3, 18; 15:26; 17:11,21; Zech. 14:9; Matt. 2:6; I Tim. 3:16)

2. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, was crucified, dead, buried, resurrected; that He ascended into Heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God, the Father, and is true God and true man. (Luke 1:30-35; I Cor. 15:3-5; Acts 1:9-11)

3. We believe the Bible, in its entirety, to be the inspired Word of God and the only infallible rule of faith and conduct. (II Tim. 3:15-17; Heb. 4:12; II Pet. 1:20-21)

4. We believe in the resurrection of the dead, the eternal joy of the saved and the eternal punishment of the lost. (I Cor. 15:20-22; II Cor. 5:10, 14, 15; I Thess. 4:13-15)

5. We believe in personal salvation of believers through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (I Pet. 1:3-5, 8, 9; Rom. 5:8-10; I Pet. 2:24-25; Rom 1:16). Learn more about following Jesus.

6. We believe in sanctification through the Word of God by the Holy Spirit, expressed in personal holiness of heart and life. (Heb. 12:10, 14; I Thess. 3:13; Eph. 4:24; Rom. 6:22)

7. We believe in divine healing, through faith in the name of Jesus Christ. (James 5:14-16)

8. We believe in water baptism by immersion as an immediate declaration of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. (Acts 2:38; 10:48; Matt. 3:13-16; Mk. 15:16)

9. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, in speaking with tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance (Acts 2:4), in the gifts of the Spirit, and the evidence of the fruit of the Spirit. We believe that all are available to believers. (Acts 2:1-4, 33; 2:38-39; 10:44-48)

10. We believe in the soon-coming, personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:9-11; I Thess. 4:13- 17)

11. We believe in world evangelization and missionary work in accordance with the Great Commission, with signs following. (Matt. 28:19)

12. We believe in the Church as the Body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with each born-again believer as an integral functioning member. (Col. 1:17-20; Eph. 2:19-22; 4:11-16)
