Missionaries to Uruguay
Michael & Denise Mills have been married 31 years. Michael has a doctorate in Leadership from Asbury Seminary, and Denise has just achieved a professional Chef degree from A.I. culinary in Seattle.
From Michael and Denise: Part of our ministry strategy is to evanglize villages through food. Denise teaches the indigenous to make new items of food using their own ingredients. We have also helped them to build adobe ovens in order to cook the food, and sell it so they could add income to their family’s budget. We have 17 years of missionary experience in Ecuador. When the Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM) team informed us that with our qualifications we could select nearly anywhere in the world to be assigned we replied by asking to be assigned to an area of their greatest need. They directed us to Salto Uruguay, where the AGWM has never had a missionary. Uruguay is the only South American country that has atheism in their constitution. I (Michael) was raised by my atheistic dad until 16 years old. Uruguay is known as the “Graveyard of Missions”. We believe that Christ specializes in graveyard miracles! Uruguay has 3.5 Million inhabitants. It is almost as if the Holy Spirit has crafted us to fit in a team to bless Uruguay. Lord willing we want to help establish a church plant in each city and mentor national pastors and leaders. It would be like Him to pour out His Spirit on Uruguay.
