What pressures are facing the church in Pergamum? Where are they strong? Where are they tempted? Which do you think is easier to endure: Persecution by enemies or seduction by the culture? Why?

What cultural influences distract you from your relationship with Christ? How subtle are these influences in your life? How Direct?

What weapons has God given you to battle against these temptations?

ICEBREAKER: what is the most physically demanding thing you have ever done? How did you prepare? How did you endure?

Read Revelation 2:8-11

How does Jesus describe him self? What does he mean when he says he is the first and the last? How does Jesus’ eternal nature comfort believers facing hardship? How does his eternality encourage you?

What is the church in Smyrna facing? Why would people want to persecute followers of Jesus?

We were encouraged on Sunday to pray for persecuted Christians. Why is it important to pray for people facing persecution? How do you feel when you know that people are praying for you?

This Week at the Lynnwood Campus

We’re moving right along at Lynnwood, and have called for our next round in the final inspection on the building!

The ramp in the Kids Area looks fantastic (those handrails will be painted purple – fun, right!?)

And the handrails outside are gorgeous.

As of writing this, there’s no timeline on when the inspector will be through… But we’ll keep you posted!
