Read Luke 22:1-6. Why are the priests and teachers so determined to kill Jesus? What do you think was Judas’ motivation to betray Jesus?
Read Luke 22:7-23. What was the significance of Passover and the Passover lamb (see Ex. 12:1-13, 21-28)? Why do you think Jesus had “eagerly desired” to share this Passover meal with his disciples? How did the Passover meal find “fulfillment in the kingdom of God” (v. 16)? If you were at this meal, how would you have reacted to the news of an unnamed betrayer among you?
Read Luke 22:24-38. What do you suppose motivated the argument about who was the greatest among them? How does Jesus resolve the argument? What are the differences between Peter and Judas, considering that they both failed Jesus?
