Read Luke 19:1-10. What is revealed by the way Zacchaeus approaches Jesus? Why does Jesus go to eat at his house? Why does that bother the others? What do you think the crowd thought of Zacchaeus after Jesus’ words in verses 9-10?
Where were you when you first encountered Jesus? How did he get you to join him?
Read Luke 19:11-27. What has happened to the 10 minas given to the first servant? The second? How does the master reply to them? How is the third servant’s report influenced by a faulty perception of his master? What is that servant’s “reward”?
What talents and resources do you think Jesus has left with you? How do you feel about the way you have invested them? How could you be more prudent in your investment? Is fear ever a motive in your relationship with Jesus? Why or why not?
